nominate Lesser Black-backed Gull (L. f. fuscus)

Larus fuscus fuscus HT-5.206.xxx, August 07 2002, Tampere, Finland (61.33N 24.59E).

Ringed with a Finnsih metal ring HT - 5.206.??? and probably a female as the small size, slender bill and almost Common Gull-like general appearance. Note the bleached wing-coverts and the brown hue in the upper-parts. The plastic ring may have get lost, but other birds were metal ringed, without plastic ring, e.g. a bird ringed as pullus HT - 5.205.201 ringed at Palkan in June 1999 and a bird ringed HT - 205.296 which was ringed as pullus at Kanala, also in June 1999.
