Larus fuscus fuscus 6cy C85E, August 06 - 09 2002, Tampere, Finland (61.33N 24.59E).

C85E was ringed in Kanala, Finland (61,54N 24,32E); ringed as pullus on July 04 1997. Hand when ringed: 263 mm.

1999: 9 records from 1999-05-05 until 1999-07-13,
2000: 9 records from 2000-05-01 until 2000-08-12,
2001: 21 records from 2001-04-19 until 2001-08-12,
2002: 23 records from 2002-04-18 until 2002-08-09,
2003: 12 records from 2003-05-17 until 2003-08-03.

Ringed as pullus at Kanala, Finland on July 04 1997, now in 6cy. In the right wing, primary moult was arrested at P5, which shows a neat white tip, compared to the obvious smaller and worn tip of P6. The outer primaries are paler brown and obviously older than the inner primaries. Moult has started with a few lower lesser coverts and median coverts missing. Note the outer and central greater covert, which show 'jumpy' moult strategy with some feathers stronger bleached than the adjacent coverts. The upper-parts show a strong brown hue (but note that the bottom image was taken in late afternoon).
