Larus fuscus fuscus 6+cy C3KU, July 09-11 2003, Tampere, Finland (61.33N 24.59E).

C3KU was ringed in Tampere, Finland (61,54N 23,98E); ringed as >2cy on August 07 1999. Hand when ringed: 435 mm.

Ringed as 2+cy at Tampere, Finland on August 07 1999, now in 6+cy. Adult fuscus with small size, slender bill, dark upper-parts which turn brown hued when older and worn, lack of moult in the scapulars, wing-coverts and the primaries and small white tips on the outer primaries, which wear away quickly. Note the mahogany hue on the inner greater coverts and upper tertials, and compare with the fresh cold blackish grey upper scapulars.
