Larus fuscus fuscus adult, October 02 2009, Ashdod, Israel. Images Amir Ben Dov.
An adult fuscus by early October in Israel. Complete moult difficult to ascertian, probably still not started, all primaries, secondaries and rectrices present. Immaculate white head. Difficult to determine if some feathers are fresh and have been replaced more recently. Remember that inner primaries are on average in better condition, as they are protected by tertials in a closed wing.
