Larus fuscus fuscus adult, January 06 2010, Ashdod. Picture Amir Ben Dov.
Unringed adult nominate fuscus by January. P6 fully grown (rather slow bird), P9-P10 still old. P7 about half of its final length. Moult in the secondaries started. From this bird it is obvious the moult in the secondaries involves several secondaries at once, with an obvious moult gap halfway the wing. Tip of S1 just visible. Very soon, another moult wave will start from the body, progressing outwards. Also active moult in the tail feathers.
