Larus fuscus fuscus 3cy, March 25 2011, Ashdod, Israel. Picture Amir Ben Dov.
Active primary and wing-covert moult. In the left wing: P1 just replaced, with grey centre and large white tip. P2-P7 in relative good condition, P8 growing, P9-P10 old with the tips worn. This bird is probably in active moult at two locations in the primaries, which may explain the moult contrast in many birds we see in Finland by late May. Rectrices also in active moult.
