Larus fuscus fuscus 2cy CRX6 March 13 2010, Ashdod. Picture Amir Ben Dov.

CPA6 has been ringed in Finland in 2009.

In many ways classic bird regarding moult devlopment. By mid March, scapulars replaced and many wing-coverts replaced. Mc, llc and inner gc replaced, central gc currently missing (exposing the secondaries underneath) and still some central gc juvenile (normal sequence in this bird, typically gc 8-10 will be replaced late). Upper tertials replaced, lower tertials still juvenile; central secondaries still old, juvenile. Central rectrices probably in active moult as well, but hard to determine. Primaries: at least P6-P10 old juvenile.

Birds in this stage of moult by March will probably return in Finland with all/most primaries replaced, and in complete 2nd gen plumage (see 2cy May, June and July sections).
