Larus fuscus fuscus 2cy, May 14 2010, Eilat. Picture Amir Ben Dov.
Complete plumage replaced for 2nd gen feathers, fresh. Typical for nominate fuscus 2cy: a 'post-juvenile' moult that is complete and takes place on the winter grounds well within the first 12 months. In most birds, the sequence in this moult is different from the complete moult as found in e.g. Herring Gull.
